Torch gets Olympic welcome Thompson presented with flameless replica; Drive will be closed Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed from 7 to 11 a.m. Sunday for the Miller Ride for the Arts and will close again from 8 to 9 p.m. and 10 to 10:30 p.m. when the Olympic torch passes by, according to Sgt. Keith Zauner of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Streets will remain open along the route the torch will take until just before it passes, said Deputy Inspector Arthur Jones of the Milwaukee Police Department. He said police will close portions of streets in a "leapfrog" fashion, shutting down small stretches just before the runner goes by and reopening them after the torch passes. Promoters urge those who want to attend the community celebration at Veterans Park to ride the Milwaukee Country Transit System. For bus routes and schedules to the park celebration, call 344-6711.
