Barack Obama's relatives in western Kenya are paying close attention to how he is doing in the New Hampshire primary _ and to what he is doing to help his father's homeland recover from a deadly political crisis.

Kogelo, the home village of Barack Obama's father, has been spared the political and ethnic violence that has erupted elsewhere in this country following a disputed Dec. 27 presidential election.
