Article: Hundreds of workers in Finland to strike to protest layoffs, paper mill closures

Hundreds of workers in Finland plan strikes this week in support of employees of paper maker Stora Enso, which has warned of layoffs and mill closures, unions said Monday.

Technical staff at Finnish national carrier Finnair will walk out Wednesday, and employees at defense and aerospace group Patria and alcohol producer Altia will strike Friday, the Union of Salaried Employees said. In all, the one-day protests will involve some 1,400 workers, the union said.
