Turkey on Thursday blocked access to the popular video-sharing Web site YouTube in response to a video clip allegedly insulting the country's founding father, state-run media said.

A prosecutor in the Turkish capital of Ankara asked a court ban access to the Web site due to a video clip that the prosecutor deemed was disrespectful of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Turkey's revered founder who died seven decades ago, state-run Anatolia news agency said.
