China said it is "seriously concerned" about a planned meeting between Gordon Brown and the Dalai Lama, telling the British Prime Minister not to offer support to Tibet's exiled Buddhist leader.
The Dalai Lama is a "political refugee engaged in activities of splitting China under the camouflage of religion," Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in remarks issued late Wednesday by the official Xinhua News Agency.
The British side should "get a clear understanding of the Dalai Lama's 'true face' and offer no support for Dalai and his secessionist activities," Qin said.
