Article: Israel places employees of pro-peace radio under house arrest

Israel has placed under house arrest seven employees of a pro-peace radio station based in the West Bank, the station said Wednesday.

On Monday, Israeli police raided RAM-FM's Jerusalem office and seized its transmission equipment, saying the station was broadcasting without a license. Employees detained during the raid were jailed overnight, and released the following day.

The station said seven employees were placed under house arrest for one week, and forbidden to speak to anyone but their families. For the following eight days, they'll be allowed to leave their homes, but won't be able to go to work or contact station employees, news editor Xolani Gwala said.
