Article: BA and BAA postpone move of long haul flights to T5, angering rival airlines

British Airways PLC is delaying the transfer of most of its long-haul flights to Heathrow's problem-plagued Terminal 5 by more than a month, angering rival airlines waiting to fill BA's slots in other terminals at the airport.

BA and Heathrow operator BAA issued a joint statement on Friday saying the flights that were due to be transferred on April 30 would keep operating out of Terminal 4 until at least June 5 to ensure it can handle the extra passengers and baggage.

The delay will have a domino effect on more than 50 other carriers who are waiting to take BA's vacated slots at Terminal 4 and at other terminals in turn as BAA refurbishes the entire airport.
