A look at plans announced by Hollywood studios and other entertainment companies for theme parks in the Middle East:
_ March 2007: Marvel Entertainment Inc. says it will help create a $1 billion (630 million) theme park based on characters like Spider-Man, X-Men and Hulk with Al Ahli Group in Dubai by 2011.
_ May 2007: General Electric Co.'s Universal Studios says it will partner with government-owned Tatweer on a $2.2 billion (1.39 billion) project in the huge Dubailand project based on franchises such as King Kong and Jurassic Park to open in 2010.
