A Bosnia-born man pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to crimes such as rape and torture against civilian detainees in Bosnia in 1992. The case is considered an important test of new Norwegian laws regarding crimes against humanity.
The alleged crimes by Mirsad Repak, 41, now a Norwegian citizen, occurred during a five-month period when he was part of the paramilitary Croatian Defense Forces, which imprisoned Bosnian Serbs at detention camps during that Balkan country's war.
