The contrast between Daniele De Rossi's first meeting with the United States and Monday's rematch couldn't have been greater.

Three years ago, the AS Roma midfielder was banned for four games of Italy's World Cup campaign for bloodying the face of U.S. forward Brian McBride with his elbow. On Monday, he scored the winning goal as Italy rallied for a 3-1 win over a 10-man United States.

"It's strange. It's two very different emotions," De Rossi said. "This is a great satisfaction whereas that was a real low for my career. It's hard to describe how different the two things are."
