Iran's proposal for talks with global powers this week can provide for a broad dialogue, a Russian diplomat reportedly said Tuesday in an apparent effort to avoid putting too much pressure on Tehran, at least publicly.
Facing international pressure to end its recalcitrance over its nuclear program, Iran is set to hold talks Thursday with the five permanent U.N. Security Council members plus Germany _ the so-called "sextet" leading efforts to ensure that Iran does not develop atomic weapons.
Iran proposed the meeting, but initially said it would not discuss its nuclear program. It has since indicated the nuclear issue could be discussed in a vague proposal that ...
