Poland signs PLN 4.9 bln deal for armored troop carriers with Finland's Patria & Polish partner

Krakow. April 15. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Poland's Ministry of Defense signed a PLN 4.9 bln deal for armored troop transports with Finland's Patria and Polish defense firm Wojskowe Zaklady Mechaniczne (WZM) from Siemianowice Slaskie, the Polish Ministry said Tuesday.

Patria, in cooperation with WZM, will deliver 690 armored personnel carriers AMVs, of which 313 carriers will be equipped with 30 mm cannon, 87 with 12.7 mm machine gun and the remaining 290 vehicles will be used for special purposes: engineering, command, medical and technical support.
