Apr. 16--CAMP AS SAYLIYAH, Qatar--As Iraqis began the difficult task Tuesday of shaping a new, post-regime government, Persian Gulf Arab states demanded U.S. officials cease their threatening rhetoric against nearby Syria.
With military operations subsiding in Iraq, U.S. officials are ratcheting up pressure on Syria, and, on Tuesday, military personnel shut down a pipeline between Syria and Iraq alleged to be exporting illegal shipments of oil.
