THE plastic surgeon fighting to save 12-yearold Ali Ismaeel Abbas, who lost his arms and his family in a bomb blast, said today: "I'm 100 per cent certain he's going to make it. He's a brave, strong boy. He's stable."
The words of hope for the child who has become a symbol of the appalling ravages of war came from Kuwait's leading burns specialist Dr Imad Najada, who treated Ali overnight.
Hours earlier, Ali, who also suffered dreadful burns in an allied bomb attack on his home, had been airlifted from a stricken Baghdad hospital to Kuwait City's state-of-the-art Al-Babtain Burns centre for burns and plastic surgery.
