Apr. 16--A light convention calendar, sparse headliner shows, travel disruptions and the war in Iraq are all clipping demand on the Strip heading into May, analysts said Tuesday.
The average rate for rooms booked three weeks in advance for the week of May 5 fell to $124, down 10.9 percent compared with the year before, the latest survey data released Tuesday by Deutsche Bank shows.
Compared with pre-Sept. 11 numbers, the average room rate was down 25.7 percent.
