"Jesus Christ Superstar," at the Wang Theatre, Boston, last night, though Sunday.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" is the godfather of rock musicals - a piece of pop kitsch from the 1970s that has remained hugely popular, largely because of the driving Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice score.
So it's not surprising that it should be reconceived for today's audiences in a big, glitzy and extremely loud revival that has arrived at the Wang Theatre just in time for Easter.
