While the war in Iraq is progressing largely according to plan, the other war - the war on terrorism - just took a step backward.
On Friday, Americans were greeted by disturbing news from the Middle Eastern nation of Yemen. Ten suspected al-Qaida members held in connection with the October 2000 bombing of the Norfolk-based USS Cole escaped from a high-security intelligence prison. After five days, none of the 10 have been caught.
Yemeni authorities, who quickly formed a government task force to carry out the manhunt and offer rewards, said the suspects fled through a hole in the prison's bathroom wall. But sources close to the investigation told The Associated Press ...
