G. d'Andelot "Don" Belin of Lexington, a lawyer and former General Counsel to the U.S. Treasury Department, died Tuesday at his home. He was 84.
Born in Scranton, Pa., he attended the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut. He went on to earn a degree from Yale College in 1939. He moved to Boston in 1946, after graduating from Yale Law School. He had been a longtime resident of Cambridge.
During World War II, Mr. Belin served with the Army in the Corps of Engineers and Military Intelligence. Active in the U.S. and European theaters, he rose to the rank of captain.
He began his career as a trial lawyer at Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston. Specializing ...
