Apr. 18--Despite growing concern over Ventura County's soaring housing costs, former Santa Barbara resident Kim Griffith Funk thinks living here is great.
"It may be getting more expensive here, but it's nothing compared to Santa Barbara," said Funk, an assistant vice president in the marketing division of Pacific Capital Bancorp, the parent of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust.
Two years ago, Funk bought a condominium in Ventura after her landlord nearly doubled the rent on a two-bedroom Santa Barbara home where she had lived for nine years.
