Todd Huynh's parents were doubtful when he told them he wanted to open a cafe in Chinatown. Like many older Chinese immigrants, they operate a traditional grocery and herbal shop in the Near South Side neighborhood.
``My parents were a little hesitant at first,'' Mr. Huynh concedes. ``They wondered why I couldn't open a store like theirs. But my dad knows how it is to open your own business and helped me a lot.''
