The Importance of Environmental Causes
I'm a retired broadcaster involved with numerous nonprofit and civic volunteer efforts. I subscribe to a lot of magazines but rarely have time to read them all. Yours is a welcome diversion. I especially liked Monica Michael Willis's article about Stephen Malkoff and his tree project ("The Tree Artist," Save Our Countryside, March 2003). People need to know that trees are precious--a natural resource we should preserve. Our country lifestyle is disappearing because of urban sprawl, factory farms, and dying small towns. All magazines in your genre should include environmental advocacy, even if it isn't the main focus.
