A police chase that began in Hampshire around 5 a.m. Tuesday ended hours later when an officer shot and wounded a Chicago man in Illinois near the Wisconsin border, according to police.
Hampshire police were called to the Travel Centers of America near Interstate 90 where Saban Habibovic, 23, of 4229 W. Keystone Ave., Chicago, was selling electronic equipment in the parking lot.
When Hampshire police arrived, Habibovic got in a red Honda and tried to hit a Hampshire police officer with his car as he sped away, police said.
