GIVE Snowdon its original Welsh name, then learn the language.
That was the message from visiting holidaymakers basking in Easter sunshine yesterday.
Their response backed the call from the Welsh pressure group Cymuned, which wants the name Snowdon replaced with Yr Wyddfa,and Snowdonia replaced with Eryri.
They say that in Australia, Aborigines have persuaded authorities to change the name of Ayers Rock to the original name Uluru, which had been used for thousands of years before Europeans arrived.
And there is a campaign in Nepal and Tibet to have Mount Everest returned to the original Tibetan name of ...
