A KEY Welsh rail service is being dropped so the train can be used in England, according to furious watchdogs.
The Rail Passenger Committee Wales has written to Transport Secretary Alistair Darling urging him to intervene over the daily Virgin Trains service from Swansea to Birmingham and north-east England - due to be axed in September.
The committee argues the Strategic Rail Authority in London or Virgin Trains, or both, broke the law when they decided to withdraw the service without consulting it, or Swansea City Council.
