Wynns Coonawarra Estate, the Estate that made Coonawarra Famous, offers premium wines in the Americas. Scottish Pioneer John Riddoch founded the region initially for a fruit orchard and subsequently planted vineyards in the 1890s. In 1951, Samuel and David Wynn purchased the struggling winery and gave their name to the company that has since become the region's preeminent producer of premium wines.
