Softball coach Guy Nelsen says he feels like a criminal.
He took his Willmar team to the Disney World athletic complex in Orlando, Fla., for two games and four scrimmages late last month.
When his team returned, he found out that it had broken a Minnesota State High School League rule. Bylaw 411 states that any scrimmage with an umpire counts as a game unless the league grants a waiver.
"For the last 10 to 15 years, teams have been doing this," he said Monday. "And this is the first time it has ever been brought up."
