Miami-Dade's biomedical industry marked this year with new product introductions, as research and development from previous years began to pay off. Indeed, this high-paying industry -- which the Beacon Council estimates at 9,000 employees for drug makers, medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical research companies in Miami-Dade -- appears poised for a spurt of growth.
