This is the second edition of a monograph first published in 1990 and has been updated to reflect developments in longitudinal research (especially in relation to data analysis) over the past decade. The author describes longitudinal research is a `family' of methods and takes the reader through issues of definition, purpose, design, key issues which may arise and data analysis.
