Apr. 24--The father of a young boy mauled to death by hyenas during a trip to Africa can sue the Fort Lauderdale company that arranged the safari, even though the child's mother signed a waiver before the trip, an appeals court ruled Wednesday.
The groundbreaking decision by the Fourth District Court of Appeal cleared the way for Mark R. Shea, a resident of Maryland, to sue Global Travel Marketing Inc., which advertises as the Africa Adventure Company.
