Apr. 25--State Farm Insurance will move its main operations for Minnesota and five other states from Woodbury to Lincoln, Neb., over the next several years, resulting in a local loss of about 1,000 jobs.
State Farm, the largest home and auto insurer in Minnesota, will move 140 general department managers to Lincoln by July 2004, company executives said Wednesday.
Another 860 employees are in a kind of employment limbo. They can apply for jobs in Lincoln as positions come open. The company estimates that 10 percent to 20 percent of its employees will choose not to move, ...
