Apr. 26--Why Lincoln?
That's a natural question after State Farm Insurance said it will consolidate its six-state Midwest regional center in Woodbury into operations at its site in Lincoln, Neb.
Much of the answer apparently rests in the fact that living around Lincoln simply costs less than living here. This, despite the fact that the tax burden falling onto employees often works out to be lower here than there.
State Farm's decision, announced Thursday, is expected to eventually mean a loss of 1,000 jobs at its regional center in Woodbury. Just ...
