Some people jaywalk across Wilson Street in downtown Batavia just to get to the other side in one piece.
Batavia architect Lane Allen, who sees this every day from his office on the east end of the Wilson Street bridge, knows that sounds contradictory since it's normally a dangerous gamble to jaywalk. But it's true.
Allen points to Geneva's Third Street as a prime example of pedestrian-friendliness, with its myriad crosswalks, spacious sidewalks and eye-pleasing plants.
