Contemporary snobs owe a thing or two to the Prozorov sisters - Olga, Masha and Irina. The Chekhovian snoots bear their breeding in their carriage and mean manners. No one in their rural Russian community seems to appreciate their heritage, because the family has lost its wealth. And their sister-in-law comes in and runs roughshod all over the house they share with their brother.
Still, they have their education and attitude. That must count for something.
