Article: In Search of Image Boost, Indianapolis hires New York Marketing Firm.

Apr. 28--The city is looking for an image, and the mayor is hoping a public relations firm from New York City and more than $100,000 in taxpayer money can help find it.

"It's not that we have an image problem like the one Cleveland had," said Mayor Bart Peterson. "It's more that there's a lack of a strong picture (of Indianapolis) in people's minds."

Clearly, the name Indianapolis has meaning attached to it. The Indianapolis 500 is one of the world's best-known sporting events, and the city's amateur sports scene draws plenty of attention.
