Article: Lactobacillus GG for prevention of childhood eczema. (Literature Review & Commentary).(Brief Article)

One hundred fifty-nine pregnant women who had at least one first-degree relative (or partner) with atopic eczema, allergic rhinitis, or asthma were randomly assigned to receive, in double-blind fashion, Lactobacillus GG ([10.sup.10] colony-forming units per day) or placebo for 2-4 weeks before expected delivery.
