Maybe it's the four-part name, or its location nestled up in the Confederation's youngest canton, Jura, which was formed in 1979, or perhaps it's the shadow cast by Geneva and Lausanne from just around the corner, but for one reason or another the Suisse Romands's third largest city-La Chaux-de-Founds-tends to have a difficult time making it into the collective consciousness of the average foreign traveller to or expat living in Switzerland-and what a shame that is.
