Apr. 29--Puebloan Art Porter, whose advertising career spanned decades at The Pueblo Chieftain and The Pueblo Star-Journal died Sunday. He was 89.

Porter was an ambitious 13-year-old when he went to work for The Star-Journal (before the newspapers combined) in 1927.

At his retirement party 51 years later, Porter bid goodbye to his long advertising career and his retail ad manager's job with his characteristic wry sense of humor.
