A NEWLY formed coalition of environmental activists has launched a campaign aimed at eliminating the use of toxic chemicals that persist in air, land, water and food.
The Alliance for Safer Alternatives says the federal government does not require health studies for new industrial chemicals unless they will be added to food. Health tests are not required for chemicals used in cosmetics, toys, clothing, carpets or construction materials.
