SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, May 1 (AScribe Newswire) -- The southern California coast is at risk from tsunamis due to a variety of sources, including both submarine landslides and near-shore earthquakes. Some scenarios could produce damaging tsunamis that extend all the way from Los Angeles to San Diego, with major port facilities likely to be hit particularly hard. These are some of the findings of a comprehensive analysis of tsunami risk in Los Angeles and Orange Counties that was conducted by researchers at the University of Southern California and Legg Geophysical.
