PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Joint venture contract award for oilfield exploration and production sharing contract. The group, led by the local SHELL GABON, a subsidiary of a subsidiary of the ROYAL DUTCH/SHELL GROUP of the Netherlands-UK, signed a contract that is valid for 10 years followed by 2 more 5-year terms.
The project covers the onshore Rabi-Kounga oilfield located in the Gamba region. Production output is currently said to amount to some 55,000 barrels per day. However, a total investment of $150,000,000 is now needed in order to improve the recovery rate.
