PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Power demand in Indonesia is estimated to grow around 10% annually, making it one of the most vigorous markets in Southeast Asia. As a result, the local state-owned power utility, PT PERUSAHAN UMUM LISTRICK NEGARA (PLN), recently awarded a power plant construction contract to an international consortium led by SIEMENS AG of Germany. The other companies involved in the undertaking include SIEMEN's local subsidiary, PT SIEMENS INDONESIA in conjunction with PT BALFOUR BEATTY SAKTI INDONESIA, an affiliate of UK-based BALFOUR BEATTY, and SAMSUNG CORP. of South Korea.
