RED LION, Pa. -- The site of the latest school shooting looks like any other small town. A river runs by it. Hills roll around it. Victorian houses, many featuring American flags and yellow ribbons on their porches, line Main Street.
You can see that Red Lion, population 6,130, was once a wealthy town.
According to literature from the local historical society, they hand-rolled cigars here until machines took over the job - in the 1920s, there were as many as 75 cigar factories in Red Lion - and they made radio cabinets until television put them out of business.
