GARLIC--Exports of garlic powder in 2002 totaled 4.8 million pounds, 20% lower than 2001. Shipments to the United Kingdom were down 46% to 657,787 pounds, while exports to Australia, another large market for U.S. garlic powder, were down 38% to 624,109 pounds.

Other garlic product exports totaled 7.8 million pounds in 2002, 14% lower than 2001. Exports to most European countries were down with the exception of Germany and Norway. U.S. exports to Germany totaled 197,265 pounds in 2002, compared to 143,638 pounds in 2001. Shipments to Norway were up over 130% to 90,350 pounds.
