Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore are old. Too oldto stumble over ottomans, too old to venture out on blind dates every Saturday night, too old to dance across rooftops. Quite frankly, it's been obvious for some time.

Van Dyke spent most of the '90s playing Dr. Mark Sloane, the deadly dull sleuth on "Diagnosis Murder," a role he could have once played while driving a flying car in one hand and juggling broomsticks in the other.

Moore's bravest performance in recent years was shivering beside a bronze statue of herself on a chilly Minneapolis morning almost a year ago without grabbing her cell phone and screaming at her agent.
