CEZ eyes Slovak power producer Slovenske elektrarne

Prague. May 5. INTERFAX EUROPE - The national Czech power utility CEZ may bid for Slovakia's national power utility Slovenske elektrarne (SE), CEZ CEO Jaroslav Mil told journalists on Monday.

Slovakia wants to sell SE in two parts - the nuclear power plants and the rest - by the end of this year. CEZ says it's ready to buy SE as a whole. CEZ, which was unsuccessful in its bids for Slovak regional power distributors, says the idea of it buying SE has "some political support" within the Slovak Cabinet.
