May 5--TWIN FALLS, Idaho--A pigment that's been fed to fish for years is being used against farmed salmon.
A law firm is suing the country's three largest grocery chains, contending they should tell shoppers that the farm-raised salmon they sell has been dyed pink.
The three lawsuits, proposed as class actions and seeking unspecified damages, were filed April 23 against the Kroger Co., Safeway Inc. and Albertsons Inc. Kroger and Albertsons have since announced that they will change how salmon is labeled.
