A consultant hired by Onondaga County estimated the county will need less than a third of the 20,000 hotel rooms the developer of Destiny USA plans to build for visitors to the $2.2 billion retail and entertainment center.
In a report delivered to the county in December, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP said about 6,500 new hotel rooms will be needed to meet the lodging demand that will be created by Destiny USA.
