Christiaan Wabers knows it's probably just a dream, but one day, he would like to become a pro basketball player.
His parents believe the affable and self-confident young man also would make a good salesman, like his mother, Jennifer. Or maybe, Christiaan said, he will work in ophthalmology, like his father, Hugh.
Although he is very smart, Christiaan and his parents used to worry a lot about his future and whether Christiaan would be able to achieve his goals. That's because until recently, the 12-year-old student at Madison's Blessed Sacrament School could barely read.
