May 6--Beginning teachers who graduate from quality education colleges are more effective at teaching reading than colleagues who come into the classroom from other programs, according to a new study.
The findings were released Monday by the International Reading Association's National Commission on Excellence in Elementary Teacher Preparation for Reading Instruction. The association's annual meeting is this week at the Orange County Convention Center.
