In 1936, Syl Klinkner's mom took him to Wolff Kubly's on the Capitol Square and bought him a new bike. It was a Schwinn Excelsior, and it cost $38.
They don't make 'em like that anymore -- and we're not just talking about the bike.
Sylvester Klinkner fixes and sells used bicycles.
His location is identified by a modest sandwich board sign in front of his garage. His house (and so, his workplace) is at 4338 Travis Terrace, right at the corner with Midvale Boulevard. He is 82, and he and his wife, Dorothy, have lived there for more than 30 years.
